Why Speech Recognition?
Although speech technology is not a direct replacement for keyboards or barcodes, speech is generally better than typing when the work requires the operator be "hands-free" and/or "eyes-free". Click here to review ideal applications.
How our system works
Our speech recognition technology creates a real-time link between the users and the host computer/server on your system.
The diagram exhibits how each user wearing a Talkman terminal, communicates via RF to an access point, and then to the system host computer.
Through the use of voice and speech technology, the voice system can direct
the user on actions, validate the spoken responses for accuracy, pass data, and
update your database to maintain current real-time information.
This turn-key approach means better information which
leads to better business decisions.
At Speech Interface Design, Inc., we primarily work with Continuous-recognition, speaker-dependent voice technology. "Continuous" means that the user can speak in continuous phrases at a rapid pace. "Speaker-dependent" allows each person that uses the system, to train the system to recognize their individual voice and voice patterns. Continuous recognition, speaker-dependent benefits include:
- Highest level of accuracy provided by technology
- Works reliably in both quiet and noisy environments, even to levels requiring OSHA noise protection of 90+db
- Usable with accents or different languages, because the system allows each individual to train their own voice patterns
- Portable recognizers and wireless devices are available for this technology, allowing users to work remotely
- Software only versions are available for desktop computers
