Vocollect, Incorporated is a manufacturer of software and hardware designed to enable companies like Speech Interface Design (SID) to deliver customized Voice Automation Systems to a broad range of industrial users.
Vocollect™ Voice Technology refers to Vocollect’s suite of off-the-shelf software packages and development tools. This off-the-shelf software is certified to operate on Vocollect’s own RF voice-optimized terminals as well as more than half a dozen RF devices offered by companies such as Motorola®, LXE®, Psion Teklogix®, and Intermec®. In fact, Vocollect™ Voice Technology operates on more devices than any other major industrial voice automation technology.
“Off-the-Shelf” Software for 21st Century Benefits
When possible, SID incorporates off-the-shelf software tools as part of our customized solutions. This allows us to minimize the amount of custom programming required for a particular applicaiton. There are three primary components of the Vocollect™ Voice Technology Suite: VoiceClient, Voice Console, and VoiceLink.
VoiceClient – Downloadable firmware that enables RF-Terminals to deliver the Vocollect Voice experience
VoiceConsole – Management Tools for administering Voice operators, groups of operators, and RF Terminals
VoiceLink – A communication “middleware” providing bidirectional communication between end-user ERP or WMS systems and the Voice enabled RF terminals in use on the shop floor.
Every system SID deliver includes VoiceConsole and VoiceClient. In addition, nearly all our warehouse applications also include VoiceLink because it contains functionality geared to warehouse operations. Custom Applications Tailored to your Needs
Once the needs of the customer’s application are defined, SID starts developing the customized application by by first configuring the dozens of built-in settings in the Vocollect software components that will be applied. Then we develop customizations to provide those features not included in the base product functionality.
