On Site Engineering Assessment:
The On-Site assessment was developed to accomplish four major objectives:
- Confirm “Voice-Directed Work” technology as a “functional fit” relative to your functional requirements;
- Determine system requirements/components for purposes of determining system ballpark costs, and
- Address business case (ROI) issues, and
- Any other issues that could potentially impact the successful deployment of a “Voice-Directed Work” system.
Our onsite team will include an engineer with detailed voice experience as well as an individual tasked to assist your team in developing a project justification. In short, given today’s demanding work environment, we do not want to waste anyone’s time on a project that does meet the required functional specifications or does not provide a business case that is compelling enough to obtain funding.
Outlined below is a typical agenda for an On-Site Assessment. As you would imagine, we would want to meet with all of the potential stakeholders.
On-Site Portion/Half to Full Day Proposed Agenda:
1. Kick Off Meeting – All Participants
- Introductions & Brief Vendor Overview
- Introduce “Voice-Directed” Technology via short CD Viewing, if applicable
- Gather, review & confirm information with emphasis on project goals & major concerns
- Confirm day’s activities/meetings
2. Tour of facility
Key Objectives: Insure that Speech Interface Design has a very thorough understanding of your:
- Current processes with both strengths and weaknesses,
- How the proposed voice system would be deployed, and
- View work areas for ambient factors (noise, temperature, etc.)
3. System Discussions:
Meet with the appropriate IT personnel to:
- Review the data types, numbering systems and the ways in which your workers currently complete their tasks
- Learn the relationships between data items, dependencies, validations, and issues that make data accurate and relevant
- Review the RF environment if applicable
- Understand system interface(s) requirements & other IT requirements
4. Financial Considerations: Typically Ops Personnel and Finance
- ROI Discussions
5. End of Day Wrap Up Session:
“Verbal” Summation and Confirmation of Findings, including:
- Project Goals, Success Metrics/ROI & Key Considerations
- High Level Discussion of Proposed Voice System
- Mutually Agreeable Next Steps to Address Open Issues
6. Deliverable:
Approximately one week after the on-site visit, an Executive Summary of the onsite visit will be submitted.
