Description:
This position will focus on integrating voice powered business solutions into a customer's existing enterprise-wide systems, as well as providing technical assistance and training to the Associate Engineers and customer's personnel.

Our System Engineers are the primary interface to our customers and are responsible for maintaining a high level of support throughout the product life cycle, including the full support of our internal development and technical support process.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the onsite installation phase of various customer projects.

  • Responsible for a wide range of technical disciplines including wired and wireless networking, databases, data import/export management procedures, hardware/software setup, maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Responsible for the integration testing of customer target hardware/software configurations prior to field implementation.

  • Provide technical training on all products to customers and partners when necessary.

  • Travel to customer sites is required (approximately 50% travel)

Requirements:
BS in Computer/Electrical Engineering. Knowledge of TCP/IP, FTP, DHCP, Telnet, routing and client/server computing as well as general networking concepts, protocols and related diagnostic and troubleshooting skills is a must. Experience with Windows NT setup, configuration and troubleshooting is highly recommended. Programming experience in C, C++, SQL, VB and/or PERL and related concepts is required. Experience in developing databases and/or database management (SQL*Server is required). Exposure to RF networking platforms. Exposure to UNIX/Linux/Novell and cross-platform environments.

Well-developed troubleshooting and phone support skills are a must. A customer focused approach and a "get the job done" attitude is required. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently. Effective communications skills (written and verbal) are expected.
