Description:
The Project Engineer is accountable for configuration, testing and installation of Voice Directed Work hardware components as a member of an integration project team. The Project Engineer I participates in system troubleshooting, customer support, end user training, sales support and system design by providing technical expertise and engineering discipline.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates on implementing new or upgraded voice system hardware and software components with customer personnel and customer systems.
- Configures, tests, analyzes and troubleshoots voice system components to establish end-to-end system integration objectives.
- Consults with customer personnel concerning system operation, administration and user training.
- Provide technical training on all products to customers and partners.
- Investigates, troubleshoots and recommends configuration changes in response to performance concerns and customer change requests.
- Develop, implement and conduct testing procedures for system components. Communicate testing results (written and verbal).
Requirements:
BS in Computer/Electrical Engineering. Knowledge of and experience with fundamental computer networking concepts, including: TCP/IP, FTP, Wireless networking (802.11), firewalls, client/server computing and troubleshooting network connectivity. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft operating systems and software, including: installation, networking configurations and settings. Exposure to computer programming. Ability and willingness to travel (50-75%) to customer site, possibly on short notice, interact with customer personnel and maintain a customer focused approach and positive attitude. Interpersonal communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot system operation and provide customer support via telephone.
